Why Dr. Kish?

Services & What to Expect

Who will I meet?

Trisha will probably be your first contact person when you call and come into the office. Trisha has been with my office since 1995. She works as receptionist, assists with physical therapies, and will be handling your account whether it be insurance or cash. She is very knowledgeable and is a great resource person. She also is a Certified Massage Therapist and maintains a private massage practice.

What should I expect at my consultation?

When you come in for a no-charge consultation or for examination and treatment, you will be asked to complete a personal health history. Regardless of how much you dislike paperwork, it will take you less than 5 minutes and is required by law as part of your record. More importantly, your health history is a valuable tool to help Dr. Kish understand your current complaints, and establishes a foundation for him to help direct you to a healthy and symptom free lifestyle.

After reviewing your health history, Dr. Kish will talk with you about your specific concerns and symptoms. If he feels he can help you, he will explain the different possible reasons that you are having the symptoms and how he can help. If he feels your symptoms are not treatable through chiropractic, he will refer you to a medical provider that best suits your needs.

At this point your no-charge consultation is complete.

What's next?

Following your consultation, and with your approval, Dr. Kish will complete an examination.

Examination

Physical examinations are done to find out as much information as possible about how your body is functioning. Many patients are surprised at the extent of the examination. But Dr. Kish believes that if you don't look beyond the obvious, you can't find the hidden problems that may be limiting your body's ability to recover from old or new injuries. Following your examination, Dr. Kish will share his findings with you. If your condition requires x ray examination, x rays will be taken with your permission. Treatment may begin on your first visit.

Treatment

On the follow up visit to the office, Dr. Kish will outline his findings again to make sure you understand them, and then will discuss your treatment options. Treatment is always your option because this is your body and your health. Once you decide to proceed with treatment, you will be given home care that will help to optimize your recovery.

Treatment may include: chiropractic adjustments of the spine and/or extremities, manual deep tissue release, traction, micro current therapy, ultrasound, heat or cold application, stretching and toning exercise, cardiovascular conditioning, orthotics, and other treatment as you may need. Orthotics, stabilization taping or short term bracing may also be prescribed.

Home program

Dr. Kish will design a home program to help you return to the lifestyle you want. The program may include icing, walking, toning and stretching exercise specific for your problem. If you have questions about your home program after you leave the office, feel free to call.
